Aspire Econ
Aspire Econ is a charitable initiative with the aim of improving understanding of the use of Mathematics and the application process for university-level Economics. We aim to incorporate regular blogs, webinars, and emails in this initiative diffused via a website and the use of platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn. We aim to harness our network of Economics undergraduates at Cambridge and other universities to provide detailed and diverse perspectives on these matters.

Introduction
Danny: “I am a first year Economics undergraduate at Girton College, Cambridge originally from London. I achieved 4 A* grades in A-Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Economics, and Physics and received 5 offers from Cambridge, the LSE UCL, KCL, and Warwick. Since the summer of year 11, I was always set on studying Economics since it combined my strong interest in current affairs with my enjoyment of mathematics. As I have learned more, I have grown to appreciate the beauty of how ambiguous and dynamic the subject is. During and after the application process, I was obsessed with the finest details of my applications and the stats behind admissions. Sam and I believe mathematical economics is a grey area which is not properly explored by most applicants until university – we aim to counter this by presenting tutorials and blogs about interesting applications of maths.”
Sam: “I am a first year Economics undergraduate at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, originally from Sheffield. I achieved 3 A* grades in A-Level Mathematics, Economics, Physics and an A in AS Further Mathematics. I had grown to appreciate economics as a subject throughout Y12, with my curiosity around the subject being on the mathematical basis for all logic and analysis used at A-level. I have a particular interest in the theory of the firm and market dynamics. I also received offers for Bsc Economics at the LSE and Warwick.”
